Purpose built, with wide corridors and spacious lounge areas, the home exudes a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere which can be enjoyed by residents, family and visitors alike.

Thornhill is situated on the outskirts of Cwmbran, with an established bustling town centre accessible by car or bus approximately 10 minutes from the home. Pontypool, Risca, Usk and Newport city centre are all within easy reach. Leadon Court is a home very much at ease with itself and in a welcoming setting, embraces its homely environment.

Leadon Court Care Home is part of the Summerhill Group, which is an independent care home provider determined to set high standards in each of its nine care homes in South East Wales. It has 33 fully furnished bedrooms which can be personalised to your taste. Our care teams are vigorously trained and committed to enabling individuals to live the life that they choose in a place where they can feel safe and at home.

The home offers various services, some of which are listed below:

Medical: Nurse, GP and consultant visits, Chiropodist, Dentist, Optician, Mental Health Services, OT and Physiotherapy.

Social: Hairdresser, Pet Therapist, Reflexologist, School and Church Choirs, Local Religious Figures, Entertainers, Singers and Age Concern.

Directions

Situated on the outskirts of Cwmbran town centre, Leadon Court Care Home is positioned on a cul-de-sac close to Thornhill Community Centre. Local amenities include a Pharmacy, Newsagents, GP Surgery, Fish and Chip shop and local pub. Ideally located, Cwmbran Train and Bus stations are approximately a ten minute car journey from the home.

By Car:

Leadon Court is easily accessible by car. If you are using a GPS or route finder system to get to the home, enter our postcode NP44 5TZ.

By Bus:

Stagecoach Buses service Thornhill, Cwmbran and the surrounding areas. The No 1 bus runs from Cwmbran town centre to Thornhill every 10 minutes.

By Train:

The nearest train station is Cwmbran, and then buses run to Thornhill from the Bus Station in the town centre.

Training Information

We are committed to the training and development of our team members. Through the continued investment in our people, we not only contribute to the professional development of each member of staff, but also to the achievement of the highest standards in care provision across our homes. Whilst ensuring all team members undertake the required statutory and mandatory training vital for their role, we encourage team members to undertake more specialised training and development to enable them to deepen and extend their skills, talents and capabilities.

“A genuinely caring service. Before my father-in-law came to Leadon Court he was bed ridden, under weight and had lost confidence and interest in life. The care and patient attention he received from everyone in the home made a truly massive difference. Sadly, Dad died shortly before Christmas, but the last photograph we have shows him smiling broadly, surrounded by his great grandchildren at the home's grandchildren's party. Many of the patients are in poor health and are extremely fond of their nurses and carers. I feel good just being there absorbing the atmosphere. Forget the tales of ill treatment and poor care around. If Granny needs permanent health care, this is the place to be."
